Kitui Development Centre
Kitui Development Centre (KDC) was registered in December 2001 as a local
Non-profit making organization under the NGO coordination act of 1990. It’s a
capacity building organization which empowers vulnerable communities to
improve their well-being. KDC is involved in rural development activities which
are geared towards poverty reduction. It plays a significant role in the socio-
economic development of rural communities since its services target and benefit
the poor and excluded groups in the society.

Kitui Development Centre (KDC) has nine voluntary Board of Directors with
different skills and expertise. The Board provides oversight in policy development
and implementation for the organization while the executive director and other
program officers facilitate the organization's day-to-day running. To provide
effective leadership the board of directors meet on a quarterly basis and annually
through the annual general meeting. The Board of Directors is currently comprised
of committed leaders with knowledge, expertise, experience, and considering
gender composition.
The board’s role is to oversee strategic plan implementation, promote diversity,
equity, and inclusion in the organization, promote fundraising, partnerships and
create visibility for the organization among development partners.
